I think one of the best things about being in exhibitions is getting to do sneek peeks. Ok, there are loads more reasons that shows are awesome, but I do love making these little teaser images. These are three original works for the Disband exhibition in Melbourne this week. If you are in town head along to No Vacancy Gallery for a visual feast. Nearly all the works are originals, so it's a great chance to snap up something no one else is ever going to have on their walls.
The theme of the show is again, break ups. I went with a series (again! such a sucker, must be my design background willing me to work within a set framework), printed on calico and framed. I wanted to depict three different emotions related to relationship break ups; anger, apathy and sadness. They're a visual intoxication of vintage collage, kookiness, typography and stitching. The yellow one took 18 hours alone to stitch together (done all in one night, yes. I had no breaks for the loo either). Opening night is tomorrow, so if you're in the mood for schmoozing with hot young peeps over some free wine, get your bum down there.
