Remember Me?

Don't get too excited...I'm not giving away any tickets to the movie. But I do have some work to share with you all that I'm excited about, at least. I've had to give blogging a break for a past little while due to an influx of new commissions. I've never had so much work all at once thus far in my freelancing career, so it's taken a little adjusting to. But I'm excited by the prospect that I'm getting closer to making a living and being genuinely independent.

I've just recently finished two posters, one for Mad Racket and the other for Kent Street Living Room. I've also just finished brand new artworks for a series entitled Deadly Sins, which I will be showing at Gallery Burlesque. Unfortunately the show was canceled for next week, but once a new venue is found I'll be updating details. Which means you'll have to wait a little longer to see the full artwork. But! I'm planning to do some in depth sneek peeks of each piece to stimulate your curiosity. Eventually, once shown the artworks will all be made available for sale in my shop.

Next up is another gig poster, two EPs and other bits and pieces. So I'll be disappearing again for at least another fortnight probably. I've become like a newborn baby - sleeping for a few hours, waking, eating doing a stretch of work, crashing out and doing it all again non-stop. All the days have blurred together and my eyes are red-raw and bloodshot. Being an illustrator is not always glamorous!

Sticky Beak

I know I always love to have a sticky beak into other artist's studio, so I assume you are all as voyeuristic as me. And I suppose this is partly an excuse to play with Hipstamatic on my iPhone - these photos are definitely better than any ordinary one I took in the dark afternoon light.

At the moment I've got a line of twine pinned up to the wall with postcards pegged on. Above that are three wooden clipboards for pictures, lists and other things that get changed around frequently. I got my vintage style clock from Buyster Lighting online, which sits next to the vintage "P" from Gracies Cottage on Etsy. I also got a vintage gas station number from Etsy as well from 26OliveStreet, which sits next to my recent purchases from Finders Keepers markets in Sydney - super cute pencil tin from renee-anne at Leeloo plus a handmade notebook from WeAreMessengers.

But perhaps my most exciting (and nerdy) studio feature is the to-do list I just created. It's vintage/retro style and a little bit rude - so it's totally me. It's also laminated so I can move projects/jobs around as the urgency/importance changes - which solves the problem of rewriting lists all the time! If I'm really lazy I can also write directly onto the list and wipe it off later. And because I'm such a generous, lovely person (haha) I've uploaded the list to make it available to all of you should you wish to try it. Enjoy!
