Oh hello there!

Hello? Oh, hello! Yes, it's me - I know you must have feared I'd fallen off the face of the earth, but no - still here. Just a lot more silent and a lot more frantic behind the scenes. Since November. YIKES...

Lately my world has been caught up in raising moolah, working to earn moolah and generally trying to get these tarot cards off the ground. Which they finally are, hooray! They will be arriving in about a weeks time - so I'm doing the mad scramble to finalize packaging, promotion and sales.

I've also had a collage sell at a show in Adelaide, called Nursery Rhymes (the brainchild of Eugenia Tsimiklis). I'm looking forward to receiving my teapot from Rebecca Murphy to work my magic on for the This Little Teapot show in March. That's the worky stuff (plus some graphic design jobs thrown in there). What about the rest?

It's involved moving in to the city closer to my studio space, adopting a kitten and trying to get on top of life. Usual struggle. I'm having to move on from where I've been staying for the past few months - let me just say the Sydney rent market is extortionate and mightily depressing. After a day or two of anxious searching, planning and thinking I think I've finally wrapped my head around how life has to be.

I originally made peace with the idea of living 'transiently' (aka homeless, without the bum part), but sat down and did the numbers to see if there wasn't something I could work out. So for the next four weeks I should have just enough savings to cover rent for a room nearby - after that, who knows? I'll have four weeks to figure it out.

But the stress of finding shelter, food and work has been significantly lightened by the addition of little Poe in my life. He's a hilarious little dude. A little too friendly with the teeth and claws still, but I'm finding more and more ingenious toys to distract and burn him out. [Right now he's playing with a mouse hanging from the doorway by elastic string - he's been going non-stop for half an hour with no sign of letting up.]

And yes, I will be moving everything over to my website and updating it all. But when it rains, it pours, and I've had so much other work there's been no time to devote to it. If you want to keep updated on where you can buy the tarot cards soon - check in at my FB page. That's one place I'm never silent...
